His skills with the electric violin, and his unique sound, he makes a wonderful addition to the world of blues and jazz. Young features his own original songs and interpretations of classics such as Willie Dixon, Leadbelly and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His songs include award-winning composition "Brown Cloud Over Denver" and "Hey, O.J."
Young has won several awards including: The Young Artist Award (Pittsburgh Symphony); The Concerto Contest (Carnegie-Mellon); The Passamenic Award (Branchwood String Quartet);and the award for the Best BluesBand in Westwood's Best of Denver.
His most noteworthy accomplishment is winning the IBC two times, 2008 and 2011, Lionel Young is the first double champion in the history of the IBC. |
